Rushmore Golf Club May Event

Rushmore Golf Club May Event

Ready for the off
The sun again shone down on us yet again at this unique golf course. With 14 members signed up to play and 12 actually turning up it was a day where once again the numbers had increased.

It was good to see Lord Bree back with us even though his arm was full off cortisone, but he was determined to put Trick in his place for some substandard bricklaying. Welcome also to Mark Adam one of Tricks disciples and champion bricklayers and we hope to see him again at future events. The event was won yet again by Rob smith and even separating him from his bosom buddies Mark and Mike does not seem to deter him from winning. Second was Russel wearing his "race for life" shirt (isn't that for girlie's?) and the secretary makes no apologies for initially not placing him in a podium position as if he had checked his card he would have seen that the marker had incorrectly put his own score in the overall points box. Third was Ken on count back (yet to be validated by the handicap secretary), Nearest the pin and Longest drive were both won by "Pinkie" Davis.
Another great day rounded off by a somewhat different meal of Bangers and Bubble and Squeak followed by copious amounts of Fruit crumble and custard generously donated by George and Jeff as we had already paid for their meals before we found out that they were not playing. To overcome any potential deficit to society funds in the future it was agreed by all attending that prior to the next event at Bridport we all deposit with the Treasurer £20 so that if you do not turn up and don't let anyone know in good time we will use your 20 quid.
Anyone reading this who has not played at Rushmore before should pay it a visit as it is a lovely parkland course with more than enough water and we would recommend it.
